Switzerland: Man threatens self-immolation outside parliament

A man, reportedly a Syrian Kurd, was threatening self-immolation outside the Bundeshaus, the Swiss parliament building, in Berne, Thursday.

The area surrounding the building was secured by emergency services but the building itself was not evacuated.

A journalist at the scene and the Chairman of the Council of States Claude Heche spoke to the man in an attempt to resolve the situation.
