Two police officers were injured in Istanbul's Okmeydani district, Saturday, after two unknown assailants opened fire at the patrolling officers.
The officers were taken to hospital to be treated for their injuries. An investigation into the incident is underway. Police are reportedly looking for two unidentified males wearing black t-shirts and backpacks.
Violence has escalated across Turkey since a suicide bombing killed 32 and injured 100 others in Suruc on Monday. The attack targeted a gathering the Socialist Youth Associations Federation (SGDF), 300 of who had gathered at the garden of the town's Amara Cultural Centre. The gathering was reportedly arranged to organise a SGDF humanitarian expedition to Kobane.
