New York City finally unveiled its own giant 'Bean' sculpture to mirror Chicago's famous Cloud Gate installation, following years of construction, footage from Wednesday shows.

International artist Anish Kapoor, who created the Cloud Gate sculpture in 2004, presented the new $10 million (9,091,820 EUR) reflective 'Bean' on Tuesday at 56 Leonard Street in New York's Tribeca neighbourhood.

The Indian-born British artist Kapoor's other 'Bean' is at AT&T Plaza at Millennium Park in the Loop community area of Chicago.

"I would probably choose (the Bean) in Chicago because it's not as crushed as this one looks," said a local who had come to see the new sculpture.

The Big Apple 'Bean' is nestled under a building on Leonard Street. Work began in 2018, but was on hiatus during the COVID-19 pandemic.
