During a press conference in Bogota on Wednesday, Colombian cyclist Nairo Quintana denied rumours of a possible retirement.
Quintana told journalists that despite the rumors, he will continue his career and is looking for a team for the 2023 season.
"Due to the recent events involving me as a person, which created an undeniable esoteric environment and an inexplicable wall that has risen between the possibilities of competing and my desire to keep performing. I won't give up and will keep going," he said.
According to a local journalist during the meeting, European teams are turning down the possibility of Quintana joining any squad. The cyclist explained that he and his manager will hold talks with various teams in Europe to address this issue.
"I'm available to sign for any top-class team and this is why I continue to practice," Quintana affirmed.
The Colombian, a former winner of the Giro d'Italia and Vuelta a Espana, tested positive for tramadol during last year's Tour de France and got disqualified from the traditional tournament.
