Visitors enjoyed the Balea Lac Ice Hotel, made entirely out of snow and ice, one Thursday.

Footage shows visitors arriving by cable car and entering the hotel, located on top of Romania's Carpathian Mountains. It also has a restaurant and a bar, where dishes and drinks are served in glasses or plates made out of ice.

According to co-founder Mario Filip, the Ice Hotel was built with the idea of bringing something new to Romanian tourism, combining adventure and fun with the latest concepts in tourism promotion.

"There is less and less snow and this year we struggled a lot to bring snow from all the mountains around," added Filip. "It is a huge problem also to maintain the hotel because of all these climate changes which affect everybody," he emphasised.

"It is fascinating," said visitor Jani. "When you get into the sleeping bags they offer, is actually really warm," he added.

The hotel was built for the sixteenth time this December, after the snow covered the mountains and the temperatures is low during the day to keep the ice structure.
