Germany: US director Tim Sutton, Machine Gun Kelly discuss 'Taurus' at Berlinale
American director Tim Sutton was joined by Colson Baker, also known as Machine Gun Kelly, at the Berlin Film Festival to discuss their new feature drama called Taurus on Sunday.
The pair teamed up to explore the dark sides of glittering stardom, edging on the peripheries of what is fiction and what Baker really experienced in his music career.
"I feel like maybe people will get to actually know me through this film,” the musician-turned-actor explained.
Sutton, who befriended Baker before the film, said it created a safe space for the musician to explore what reaching the rock bottom of fame could be like.
“I think one of the things that has happened through making this film is that [Colson] was able to explore what oblivion would look like through performance,” Sutton said.
The film’s original title was Good News, but was changed to Baker’s zodiac sign.
