Italian director Dario Argento presented his latest thriller 'Occhiali Neri' (Dark Glasses) ahead of the screening at the 72nd Berlin International Film Festival on Friday.
Horror master Argento, actresses Ilenia Pastorelli and Asia Argento, producers Conchita Airoldi and Laurentino Guidotti and distributor Massimiliano Orfei, were present in press conference, that took place at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Berlin.
81-year-old Argento is returning following a 10-year long hiatus from making films. The director has inspired generations of filmmakers including Quentin Tarantino. Argento's daughter, Asia, also features in his latest movie.
The French-Italian thriller tells the story of blind, high-class call girl Diana, who is stalked by a serial killer.
"Those are the fears I have. The fears that have been inspired by the great Edgar Allan Poe. The fears that have inspired so many old movies, movies from the expressionism, fears from men, the fears of the mutated prospectives, deeper fears more than the simply fears we all have," Argento said.
The 72nd edition of the Berlin International Film Festival, also known as Berlinale, is to run until February 20.
