Mohammed Omairat also known as the 'Cake Boss' has taken social media by storm with his realistic cakes, enjoying a large following on Instagram and Tik Tok.
The Krefeld based baker who currently has 282 thousand followers on Tik Tok and 117 thousand followers on Instagram, opened his shop and showed the process of making a realistic cake.
According to Omairat he started to make realistic cakes during the pandemic, when his wedding cake business started slowing.
"It started with, I baked huge wedding cakes in the beginning and the business was going very well till covid came, and then suddenly all orders broken away, the first lockdown came and all events been cancelled. And than we were sitting there and said now we don't have any work anymore. And I was sitting bored at home and the idea came to me to fool my kids with a 3D cake from Kentucky," he said.
He explained that he draws his inspiration for his cakes during walks in the city.
”I am walking around and see some objects and think I can create them as a cake. And than I think what kind of funny video I can create out of it, and that it how it goes from seeing the object to the finish cake,” he added.
As for his next project? He wants to make a life-sized realistic Lamborghini car cake and then park it in the city.
"I am firmly aiming to create a Lamborghini out of cake and park it so on the street that nobody can make the difference if it is a cake or a real car," he said.
