Greece: Maradona made football better, says Guardiola
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola paid tribute to football legend Diego Maradona during a press conference held in Piraeus, on Wednesday.
"He made the football world better. His performances that he has done in Napoli in the south (of Italy) and especially with the national team in Argentina in (World Cup) in Mexico in 1986 was something unbelievable. Rest in peace and on behalf of Manchester City, a big hug for all his family," said Guardiola.
Maradona has passed away aged 60 on Wednesday.
He was hospitalised two weeks ago, to remove a blood clot from his brain, and released eight days later following a successful operation.
According to the Clarin, the largest newspaper in Argentina, he suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest at the residence where he had settled after the head surgery.
