USA: Actor Cuba Gooding Jr's groping trial delayed until October
American actor Cuba Gooding Jr's trial on groping charges, which was due to begin on Tuesday, has been postponed until October 10 after prosecutors told the judge that they were still waiting for evidence.
Gooding Jr arrived at New York City's criminal court alongside members of his legal team, on the day jury selection was set to start, and his lawyer Mark Heller commented on the case.
"He is someone that should never have been prosecuted. We believe that the only reason he was arrested and prosecuted was because of his celebrity," Heller said.
The trial stems from an incident where the actor is alleged to have groped a woman at a Manhattan roof-top bar in June.
