
Poland: Mike Pence lands in Warsaw ahead of WWII commemorations
US Vice-President Mike Pence landed at Warsaw Chopin Airport on Sunday as he arrived to take part in the commemorations on the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II.
Apart from Pence, the ceremony will see the participation of several other high-profile representatives of states, including German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Polish President Andrzej Duda, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy.
Pence, Steinmeier and Duda are scheduled to give speeches in Warsaw's Pilsudski Square to commemorate Nazi Germany's invasion of Poland and the subsequent outbreak of World War II.
