Qatari Foreign Affairs Minister Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani said the Saudi leadership is welcomed to the country during the 2022 World Cup, due to take place in Qatar. Al-Thani made the remarks on stage at the Mediterranean Dialogues conference in Rome on Thursday.
"The Saudi people are welcomed. The Saudi leadership, if they want to come with their team, of course they will be welcomed to come," he said.
"We said this very clearly: we have a clear China Wall between the politics and anything else in the life of the people, whether it's sport, whether it's culture, whether it's music, education, or whatever it is," he added.
