Moscow will communicate its concern to Washington over the alleged US involvement in a drone attack on Russia's Syria base, said Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova during her weekly briefing in Moscow on Thursday.

"We can only confirm this information, because it's absolutely reliable. It's information provided by our military experts," Zakharova said, referring to a report by Russia's Defense Ministry, claiming that the January's drone attack on the Russia's Khmeimim Airbase was directed from a US P-8 Poseidon surveillance plane.

Zakharova noted that Moscow would raise the issue "during our talks with American partners, including on the military-political line."

During the briefing, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson also brought up the US withdrawal from the INF treaty.

"This increases turbulence in international relations," she said, adding that the US decision bears "a serious risk of drawing entire areas into a new arms race."

Zakharova also commented on the New York Times report claiming that Chinese and Russian spies may be listening in on Donald Trump's phone conversations, calling it "another example of a theatre of the absurd, of some kind of looking glass."
