A powerful 7.5 magnitude earthquake hit the island of Sulawesi on Friday, triggering a tsunami with waves as high 1.5 metres (5 ft). The death toll currently stands at 844 but local authorities have warned that this number could rise sharply, as rescue efforts continue.
