
Russia: Opposition activist Navalny attends court hearing over protest
Russian opposition activisy Alexei Navalny has attended a hearing at the Tverskoi District Court on Monday. He has been accused of violating public order through protest for a second time.
If found guilty, Navalny faces a fine or being sent to prison for up to 30 days.
Navalny called on his supporters to protest a planned pension reform on 9 September. Navalny denies the charges, claiming that the protest had been approved by the government.
