
Switzerland: Russian Security Council Sec. arrives at Geneva US mission for talks
Secretary of the Security Council of Russia Nikolai Patrushev arrived at the US Mission in Geneva on Thursday morning where he is se to meet with US National Security Adviser John Bolton.
The meeting comes following a new set of US sanctions imposed on Russia.
The two parties are expected to discuss various issues including the Syrian peace settlement and Iran.
The current meeting is the first high-level one since US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin's summit in Helsinki in mid-July.
Putin has branded the US sanctions "counterproductive and useless actions, especially against a country like Russia."
