
UK: Republicans hold anti-internment parade in Belfast
An anti-internment march passed off peacefully in Belfast city centre on Saturday as several hundred republicans took part in the parade.
Around 40 loyalists, including independent unionist Jolene Bunting, staged a counter-protest on Royal Avenue.
According to the Anti-Internment League (AIL), up to 1,000 people were expected to attend the parade.
A substantial number of Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) officers were on duty in the city centre as the march was taking place.
