
Russia: 'Courageous, professional' - Putin hails Russian soldiers after Heroes Day
Russia President Vladimir Putin made a speech at the solemn reception at the Great Kremlin Palace in Moscow, Thursday, dedicated to Russia's Heroes Day - celebrated annually on December 9 - saying that Russian military personnel in Syria acted "courageously, clearly, professionally."The Russian President went on saying that the Russian army acting together with Syrian forces "destroyed the biggest organised terrorist group." He also stressed that these achievements allowed to open the road for the political resolution of the Syrian crisis and for the revival of the country.Over 300 military and civilians bearing the title of Heroes of the Soviet Union, Heroes of the Russian Federation, cavaliers of the Order of Glory and cavaliers of the Order of St. George were invited to the reception.
