
UK: Police make arrests following clashes in East London
Protesters clashed with police near Forest Gate police station in East London, late Sunday, after gathering to demand justice for Edir Frederico Da Costa who died recently after his arrest by police. London Met officers were seen making several arrests in the aftermath of the clashes.
Protesters allege that Da Costa, 25, was beaten after being pulled over by police in Newham, East London, on June 15. He died in hospital six days later. The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) have launched an investigation.
