USA: Mexico will work with USA on immigration, Trump claims
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump laid out his plans for building a wall along the southern border of the USA and Mexico, as part of his 10 point plan for immigration, during a speech in Phoenix, Arizona on Wednesday night.
Addressing thousands of supporters, Trump claimed that Mexico would work with him to build it as he listed the features the wall would have, "Towers, aerial surveillance and manpower to supplement the wall, find and dislocate tunnels, and keep out the criminal cartels and Mexico - you know that - will work with us, I really believe it. Mexico will work with us, I absolutely believe it."
Trump was adamant that USA would not finance the project, stating, "And Mexico will pay for the wall. 100 percent. They don't know it yet but they're going to pay for the wall." He went on to add, "From day one we will begin working on an impenetrable, physical, tall, powerful, beautiful southern border wall."
The speech came just after Trump touched down from his first formal visit to Mexico as a presidential candidate. The decision by Mexican President Pena Nieto to invite Trump was received as controversial by many some Mexicans after the Republican nominee has spent a large part of his campaign vocalising strict policy plans for Mexicans who enter the USA illegally.
