Israel: Reconciliation with Turkey will continue despite coup attempt – Netanyahu
Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the reconciliation process between Israel and Turkey would continue in spite of the attempted coup against Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, ahead of a cabinet meeting in Jerusalem, Sunday.
Speaking at his weekly cabinet meeting in Jerusalem, Netanyahu said: "Israel and Turkey have agreed recently on a reconciliation process and we assume this process to continue, regardless of the dramatic events Turkey has undergone this weekend.”
Israel and Turkey recently struck a broad reconciliation pact to resume diplomatic relations after six years of animosity between the countries.
The Prime Minister said that like Israel, the Palestinian Authority has offered its condolences to France over the recent attack in Nice, before accusing the former of encouraging and glorifying ‘the attackers.’ “They fund them and their families, in case of the assailants are killed,” stated Netanyahu.
