Germany: Obama flies out of Hanover after meeting European leaders
US President Barack Obama left Hanover airport on Monday, after an informal meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, British Prime Minister David Cameron, French President Francois Hollande and Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi at Herrenhausen Castle.
The crises in Syria and Libya, the fight against international terrorism and the ongoing refugee crisis were at the top of the agenda. The meeting came after Obama announced that some 250 special operations forces would be sent to Syria over the coming weeks.
Earlier on Monday, Merkel and Obama resided over the official opening ceremony of the Hannover Messe 2016 annual industrial trade show at Hanover Exhibition Grounds.
