USA: Kasich condemns the Palestinian Authority during AIPAC conference
Republican presidential candidate John Kasich strongly defended Israel, during an address to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) policy conference in Washington DC, Monday.
Kasich labelled the “200 attacks on Israel since October 2015” by “lone-wolves,” as the “outcome of the culture of death that Palestinian authority and its fore-bearers promoted for over fifty years.” The Republican candidate added that “If they truly want peace with Israel then the Palestinians cannot continue promote the culture of hatred and death.
The Ohio governor concluded, alluding to the “community of values” that is shared between the USA and Israel. “We have to recommit ourselves to those values. We must not shy away from proclaiming and celebrating them,” stated Kasich.
The AIPAC policy conference is the largest gathering of America's pro-Israel lobbying group. The conference will see keynote speeches by American and Israeli leaders, including Clinton. Israeli opposition leader Isaac Herzog will come with the speech at the conference on Monday. Over 15,000 pro-Israel US citizens are expected to attend the conference, as well as an estimated two-thirds of Congress and 3,600 students from over 630 campuses.
