USA: Meet Dasha the disabled kitty recovering at BARCS animal shelter
Four-month-old kitten Dasha can be seen crawling along the floor at the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS) in Baltimore, Thursday, after being partially paralysed from the waist down due to an accident when she was a kitten.
When Dasha was only four weeks old, she was accidentally slammed in a door. The kitty's former owners didn't take her to the veterinarian until two months has passed and the feline was soaked in her own urine when she arrived at the shelter. Dasha is currently using a diaper to keep her clean, while she masters the art of using a litter box paralysed.
Dasha will have an appointment with a neurologist to see the extent of the damage, although it is unlikely that she will regain the use of her legs. The BARCS animal shelter is currently raising donations to have a custom-fitted wheel chair made for her and to cover the costs of her veterinary appointments.
