
Kazakhstan: First McDonald's in central Asia opens in Astana
Hundreds of people gathered in Kazakh capital of Astana Tuesday, in order to be among the first customers of the country's first McDonald's restaurant.
The restaurant is in fact the first from the famous fast food chain to open its doors across the whole of central Asia. The company expects to open at at least ten more restaurants in the region during the next five years.
The restaurant was also visited by Kazakh President, Nursultan Nazarbayev, on Saturday before it was officially opened this week.
