Bulgaria: Protesters demand NATO exit at rally in Sofia
Members and supporters of the nationalist Ataka party, along with a number of anti-NATO activists, held a rally in Sofia, Sunday, were they called for Bulgaria to leave NATO.
The demonstrators gathered at the Presidency Fountain, near to the President's Office, before marching to the national assembly building, where they voiced their demands. A moment of silence was also held to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the fire in the Trade Unions House in Odessa on May 2, 2014.
The protesters condemned plans to establish a NATO base in Sofia, and demanded that Bulgaria leave the alliance in favour of improving relations with Russia. They also called for the resignation of the Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and the President Rosen Plevneliev.
