Germany: Lavrov joins 'Normandy format' talks in Berlin
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov met with his German, French, and Ukrainian counterparts (Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Laurent Fabius, and Pavlo Klimkin) for a second round of 'Normandy format' diplomatic talks at the German foreign ministry's guesthouse, Borsig Palace, in Berlin on January 21.
Focusing on the Ukrainian crisis, the foreign ministers hope to reach an agreement as violence escalates in the eastern part of the country, after Kiev mounted a large military offensive in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
