
Russia: Baltic Fleet's Kaliningrad is back home after one year away
The Baltic Fleet's Kaliningrad landing ship returned from a near year-long voyage on Tuesday, docking in Baltiysk. The crew was welcomed by a marching band, relatives, and a roast suckling pig. Soldiers also received departmental medals and gifts from the fleet command.
The Kaliningrad, which belongs to the Ropucha Class, covered a distance of around 57,000 nautical miles in 257 days, having been in the Mediterranean, the Black Sea, the North Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.
The Baltic Fleet members conducted exercises on air and anti-submarine defence, various shipboard training, as well as artillery fire on sea and air targets.
