
Lithuania: Russian actions criticised at NATO Parliamentary Assembly
The spring session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly met on Friday in Vilnius. As part of his opening address the assembly president Hugh Bayley stressed the need for NATO member states to keep up defence spending to respond to contemporary security threats. He explained that Russia had been suspended from participating in the assembly.
Bayley has held a position as a Labour Party MP in Britain since 1992. The assembly also heard from a member of the Ukrainian associate delegation.
