Germany: Refugee supporters play cat and mouse with cops
Hundreds of people demonstrated in Berlin's Kreuzberg disctrict on Tuesday evening, after refugees were evicted from a camp in Oranienplatz early in the morning.
Gathering at Kotbusser Tor Ubahn station, the protesters marched through Kreuzberg in an attempt to reach Oranienplatz. Several arrests were made while police attempted to detain those who attempted to deviate from the planned route.
The protest camp was set up in October 2012 by a number of asylum seekers who had marched from Bavaria. Around 100 refugees lived at the camp, many of had arrived from Lampedusa from Libya, others originating from countries such as Nigeria.
