The first round of collective bargaining for civil service employees at the federal government and municipalities was held in Potsdam on Tuesday as United Services Trade Union was protesting in front of Kongresshotel in Potsdam.

United Services Union (Verdi) and the German Civil Service Federation are asking for an additional 10.5 per cent for twelve months, but no less than 500 euros per month for nearly 2.4 million federal and local employees. The municipal employers' union has already rejected the collective bargaining request as 'unacceptable'.
