Indian soldiers were seen out in the record-breaking cold weather in New Delhi on Monday, as they rehearsed the celebrations for Republic Day on January 26.
Footage shows the troops with tanks and missile launches, as well as marching bands and a motorcycle display team performing acrobatic stunts.
The parade is scheduled to start from Raisina Hills and finish at the Red Fort. According to the Indian Air Force, 45 aircraft including nine Rafale jets and four helicopters will be part of the celebrations.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi will be this year’s chief guest on Republic Day; the first to receive the honour in three years, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Republic Day marks January 26 1950, when the Constitution of India came into effect.
Last week, temperatures hit 1.5 degrees Celsius in Delhi ridge, the lowest ever recorded.
