China: Cars pack Beijing road during evening rush hour as commuters return
Cars packed Beijing’s 3rd Ring Road on Friday, as commuters returned to normal life following the lifting of strict COVID-19 lockdown rules.
With China also gearing up for its New Year celebrations on January 22, the major roads and transport networks are expected to be extremely congested over the coming weeks.
The country eased many of its 'zero-COVID' policies on December 7, 2022, following a series of protests as well as rising economic and social costs.
