Morocco national football team player Ashraf Hakimi was honoured for his star performance for the Atlas Lions in the 2022 World Cup in his hometown of Ksar el-Kebir on Tuesday.
"We thank the Lions of Atlas for the great success in the World Cup and reaching the semi-finals," said a local as thousands of fans cheered in the stands of Hakimi's namesake stadium to honour the PSG right-back.
"Our city is honoured by the generous visit of Achraf Hakimi, he is very humble and has not forgotten his hometown," another local added.
Hakimi, who played a decisive role in Morocco reaching the semi-finals, was honoured with a locally-made coat by the city of Ksar el-Kebir.
