
Spain: Thousands celebrate New Year by joining traditional San Silvestre Vallecana run in Madrid
Thousands took part in the San Silvestre Vallecana 10-km street run in Madrid on Saturday, which traditionally takes place every year on the 31st of December.
According to reports, over 40.000 runners gathered on Concha Espina Street to enjoy the final race of 2022.The race had a total of five starts for different categories.
This year's event was distinguished by the presence of Madrid Mayor Jose Luis Martinez-Almeida and Vice Mayor Begoa Villacs.
The event has taken place every year since 1964. Since 1998, it has taken place on a route of just 10 kilometers, passing through some of the main points of the city.
