
Palestinian-Syrian woman runs Iraq's first cat and dog hotel in Erbil
A Palestinian-Syrian refugee has been running a hotel in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, hosting only cats and dogs for almost a year.
Amal Amro who had to leave Syria in 2015 due to worsening economic conditions in wake of an internal war, opened up the hotel to care for furry friends in need of shelter and daycare.
'Amal Pets Hotel' is the only hotel in Kurdistan dedicated to dogs and cats and currently hosts more than 25 animals.
Amal and an assistant take care of the pets' basic care, including bathing, nail clipping, combing and perfuming.
