A group of shamans gathered on a sacred hill towering over Lima to make their predictions on social and political issues for 2023 on Wednesday.

The group prayed to Tayta Inti and Pachamama, respectively Father Sun and Mother Earth in Inca spiritual tradition, as they displayed pictures of politicians including Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

"With the war with Ukraine and Russia things are going to improve," said Walter Alarcon, a shaman speaking about the armed conflict in Ukraine.

The shamans also touched upon the violent protests that rocked Peru after the ousting of the president, Pedro Castillo.

"This coming year in the first months there will be many conflicts in Peru and the entire world but as the days go by it will calm down," said Cleofe Sedano, a shaman.

The shamans also prayed for Pele, the former Brazilian football player currently undergoing treatment in a Sao Paulo hospital.
