Pools of blood and numerous casualties were captured by mobile phone footage uploaded to Ruptly stringer app in the aftermath of the bloody incident at Berlin's Breitscheidplatz Christmas market on Monday, killing 9 and injuring more than 50.
The accident happened at around 20:00 local time (19:00 GMT), when a large Scania lorry reportedly rammed into the market close to the Kurfuerstendamm Boulevard. The police have arrested the suspected driver of the lorry.
Berlin governing Mayor Michael Muller talked to journalists at the scene, saying "it is a crazy and dramatic situation. We suspect that it was a [terrorist] attack but we cannot say it yet with 100 percent certainty. To see the dead, the injured, so many people have come here to enjoy this time, it is terrible."
