Russia: Meet Masha, the grown up lioness who herds sheep!
Masha the lioness, who made friends with a flock of lambs when she was just six months old, has grown into a fully-fledged lioness, as shown by footage shot in the Khivsky District of Dagestan on Wednesday.
Masha grew up in a paddock with the flock, playing with lambs and keeping them active. She now plays the role of a watchdog and helps shepherds when the sheep are out in pasture, keeping them safe together.
Farm owner Bayrambek Rahimov was presented with the lion cub by a Russian zoo. He said that in case its more aggressive instincts take over, he would set up a real zoo on the farm where he would keep the lioness in isolation.
