India: Goa's taxi drivers strike against app-based operators
Around 15,000 taxi operators went on strike in Goa, Monday, calling for restrictions on rent-a-car and app-based businesses which they say are denting their incomes.
The strike, organised by the All Goa Taxi Owners Association and South Goa Tourist Taxi Association, took place despite the local government's announcement that the protesters would be arrested if they disrupt public services.
