USA: Opposing rallies face off as first refugees arrive in Pennsylvania
Pro and anti-refugee protesters confronted each other outside the Church World Service building in Lancaster, Pennsylvania on Saturday over the arrival of three families of Syrian refugees.
Hundreds of demonstrators welcomed the arrival of the refugees and held placards with words such as, "no walls, no hatred, no fear", and "refugees welcome". Meanwhile, opposing protesters confronted the rally, waving U.S flags and chanting "Americans first". Although tensions rose between the two protests, no clashes were reported.
The protests were both held in front of the Church World Service -a refugee resettlement agency which already helped the three Syrian families with their move to Lancaster County.
