Russia: ICBMS, T-90s rolled out for Victory Day rehearsal
The first night-time rehearsal ahead of this year’s Victory Day parade took place in Moscow on Tuesday. It was also the first joint training for all marching troops and military vehicles that will take part in the May 9 parade on Red Square. Hundreds of passers-by and military enthusiasts gathered along the Russian capital’s main street - Tverskaya - to catch a glimpse of some of the most modern and powerful military hardware in the world.
Among the military systems on show were mobile ballistic missiles such as the Iskander-M and the Topol-M, as well as the S-400 Triumf launch vehicles and T-90 tanks. The next rehearsal will be held on May 5 followed by a general repetition - on May 7.
Just over 11,000 soldiers, 151 military vehicles, and 69 planes and helicopters will participate in the Victory Day parade on Red Square to mark the 69th anniversary of the defeat of Nazi Germany in World War II.
