Federation Council considers constitutional laws on accession of DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions to Russia

The Federation Council considers constitutional laws introduced by the President to admit the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR), Zaporozhye and Kherson to Russia at a plenary session on Tuesday, October 4. On September 30, Vladimir Putin and the heads of the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions signed agreements on the accession of the new territories to Russia. The documents were sent to the Constitutional Court for verification, which legally recognised them on October 2.
