Argentina: 'Never again' - Thousands march to mark 47 years since coup d'etat
On Friday, thousands of people marched in the historic Plaza de Mayo in Buenos Aires to commemorate the 47th anniversary of the 1976 military coup in Argentina.
The marchers carried banners and placards with slogans demanding justice for the victims of the military dictatorship.
"It was my grandmother, my parents; today we are the third generation that we have always accompanied on March 24, and we must not forget," shared Enzo Quiroz, one of the participants.
The Day of Remembrance for Truth and Justice, which marks the anniversary of the coup, is a public holiday in Argentina.
Human rights groups estimate that around 30,000 people were killed during the seven years of military rule.
One year after the coup, the mothers of the disappeared began marching around the Plaza de Mayo to demand the whereabouts of their missing children. Their campaign to reunite families continues to this day.
