Actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas stated during a discussion with Head of Amazon Studios Jennifer Salke at SXSW Conference on Friday in Austin that diversity in the entertainment industry is not just about how one looks, but also 'about how you sound.'

"I feel in America we talk about diversity and inclusion, we always talk about what diversity looks like and how everyone should be represented and how everyone should be seen. But, I think true global diversity also matters, everyone also needs to be heard," Priyanka Chopra said.

She also described her new show Citadel as 'truly ambitious and one of its kind.’

"The show that you just saw, the trailer, is predominantly in the English language, but it is a global series because it travels the world. Our characters travel the world. We have local shows, one in India and one in Italy," Chopra Jonas described.

The actress and Richard Madden, co-star of the show, will reportedly receive the same wage to be part of the production, the first time that this happens in Jonas’ 22-year-old career.

Married to the singer Nick Jonas, Chopra Jonas has won several awards throughout her acting journey, including the National Award in 2008 and the Filmfare Award in 2009. She was also crowned Miss World in 2000.

The SXSW event started on Friday and will finish on March 19.
