Clashes were seen in Bogota on Wednesday, as thousands gathered to mark International Women’s Day.

Footage shows riot police with helmets and shields facing off against protesters, with tear gas deployed on the streets and activists running.

Demonstrators are also seen marching, chanting, blowing whistles and waving placards as they moved through the streets of the capital.

One sign was seen reading 'I am the voice of my daughter when she was beaten and a crazy man abused her', while another activist was seen using a lit aerosol can as a makeshift flare.

Similar demonstrations were seen all over the world with huge crowds gathering in support of women's rights and equality.
