
Syria: Armenian FM Mirzoyan meets Assad in Damascus during visit of quake-struck Syria
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Damascus, Thursday as Armenia delivered a third batch of humanitarian aid to earthquake victims.
Mirzoyan and Assad reportedly discussed bilateral relations, as well as regional and international security with Assad. The Syrian leader thanked Armenia for its assistance after the earthquakes that struck Turkey and Syria earlier in the month, while highlighting the historical ties of the countries.
Before the meeting with Assad, the Armenian foreign minister met with his Syrian counterpart Faisal al-Mekdad. Mirzoyan was set to visit Aleppo after the meeting.
