The 2023 Chicago Auto Show kicked off on Thursday. The auto show feature Jeep's Camp Jeep and Subaru's redesigned Crosstrek, as can be seen in the footage filmed in Chicago. 2024 Subaru Crosstrek made its US debut at the Chicago Auto Show.
"The Crosstrek has defined what the compact SUV should be, Crosstrek has set the bar which competitors should measure, and the Crosstrek has won everything, from media comparisons to being the number 1 rated SUV in its segment by consumer reports," said Tom Doll, the President of Subaru America. "Symmetrical all wheel drive system, providing drivers with the faster response time and better controlling comfort both on and off road."
Crosstrek gets a mild hybrid powertrain consisting of a 2.0-liter flat four-cylinder with 145 horsepower and a single electric motor offering a 13-hp boost. It's also available with front-wheel drive in addition to being all-paw, but US buyers will likely get all-wheel drive exclusively. As for the engine, the 182-hp 2.5-liter boxer engine offered in the outgoing model could be offered along with a hybrid option.
Meanwhile, Camp Jeep returned to the Chicago Auto Show for the 19th year since its debut in 2004 presenting new jeep rubicon models.
The Head of Jeep North America, Jim Morrison commented "This 20th anniversary edition is unmatched in the 4by4 world. 14.2 inches of ground clearance, an incredible 50 degrees of approach angle, 33 degree breakover, a 43 degree departure angle, now combine that with 37 inches of water fording. This jeep is unstoppable."
