
Austria: “That's a Klimt!” - Exhibition features captivating art work of Gustav Klimt in Vienna
The Belvedere Museum in Vienna opened its doors on Saturday to welcome the exhibition 'Klimt Inspired by Van Gogh, Rodin, Matisse'.
Many came to the museum to take a look at the captivating paintings and other pieces of art created by Gustav Klimt and other artists, such as Margaret Macdonald Mackintosh and Alma-Tadema.
“What would I say? It is a typical Klimt picture, very beautiful to look at. You can look at it for a long time and always see new details. That's a Klimt," described Elisabeth, one of the visitors.
According to the American visitor Allison, by looking at the paintings people can see how skillful the artists were, especially when it comes to abstract in different modernism stages. “Stunning, it is a beautiful work,” she said.
The expo features about 90 sculptures, paintings, and drawings.
Gustav Klimt (1862-1918) was an Austrian painter who became a symbol of modernism thanks to his vivid, colorful paintings such as 'The Kiss' and 'Judith and the Head of Holofernes'.
