
Pakistan: Karachi auto show hosts dozens of classic and vintage cars
Various vintage and classic cars were displayed at Frere Hall Gardens during the annual Antique Car Show in Karachi and welcomed car enthusiasts as well, on Sunday.
The footage features dozens of rare classic and vintage cars with different colours and models. Car lovers and visitors could also be seen taking selfies with the cars.
Pir Muhammad Saleh, a car collector, explained about the cars he brought to the show and said: "The car that I brought, belonged to Pir Sir Muhammad Sadiq. This is Cadillac Deville 1968 and this is Ford LTD dated 1966 model."
There were several cars with their personalities ranging from the youngest car, 40 years old, to the oldest one, 99 years old. Having different stories of cars, Vanden Plas 1956 Princess limousine was a British Embassy car that was brought to the British ambassador in Pakistan. The car is called 'Princess' since when it was made, the late Queen Elizabeth was a princess.
Other collectors also brought their rare cars such as a cream colour 1926 Renault which was a very fast sports car of its time designed and manufactured by the French.
Founders tried to display the best of their treasury like the restored Miss Fatima Jinnah's (Former Leader of the Opposition of Pakistan) 1955 Cadillac and 1965 Mercedes.
Apart from the very-rare cars like a 1972 deep green Jaguar XJ6 Series, other eye-catching and classic cars could also be seen during the car show including Chryslers, Cadillacs, Chevrolets, Mercedes, Porsche, Corvette, BMWs, Mini Austins, Fiats, Pontiac Trans Am, multiple models of Fords, Buicks.
